We are thrilled to have academic researcher, blogger, author, networker, lecturer and generally delightful lady Kat Sark join us on this episode! She walks us through fashion networking, the wide world of academia and where fashion fits into it, her city-based fashion history books, impacts of colonialism on fashion and culture, and also starts up a few good giggles. Get ready for some great stories, stuff you never knew before, big words that sound impressive, and of course, obsessions.

Obsessions!
Kat is obsessed with Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming” because Michelle Obama is a goddess among mortals.
Abby is obsessed with newslady Jenna Lee and her instagram @smarthernews that focusses on news that matters but is easily digestible and without bias. Also check out her website smartHERnews.com for more good stuff.
(Piggybacking on that, Katie also mentioned journalist and author Jessica Yellin’s instagram @jessicayellin and her amazing “news not noise” takes on the modern news cycle. It’s definitely got an American focus but is really informative and she is super knowledgable and badass.)
Katie is obsessed with Mike Judge’s animated series Tales From The Tour Bus. Amazing stories, accidental (and deliberate) shootings, all the drugs, and the biggest best animated hair on tv.
Evan is obsessed with Youtube channel Be Kind Rewind about Hollywood history, women in film, and general film studies. Especially noteworthy are the Glenn Close episode from this year’s Best Actress nominations at the Oscars …
… and the Harvey Weinstein Oscars episode:
That’s all, Hags!
